The Light Touch™ from Light Blue Optics
Try this one out, Captain Picard. Light Blue Optics has developed a hand-held holographic projector that fits in the palm of your hand. The projector uses holographic light to project an image onto virtually any surface -- including curved. Infrared sensors on the base of the device create a virtual touch screen anywhere.
You can't get one yet, but it looks like you will probably start seeing these show up in cameras and small projectors.
The best part, you don't have to worry about it malfunctioning and taking over the ship.
